Pearl Mae Bremer, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at GracePointe Crossing Gables East in Cambridge.
Pearl was born on March 16, 1929 in White, South Dakota to parents Ralph and Anne (Arends) Harms. Born during the depression, she spent her childhood helping her family on the farm.
Pearl was united in marriage to Lawrence Gilbert Bremer on July 9, 1944 in Mora, Minnesota. In the mid 1950’s Lawrence built two homes in Cambridge, one for his parents and one for his own family. In 1967, the family moved to rural Dalbo, where Pearl and Lawrence lived until 2013. With declining health, Pearl and Lawrence moved to Elmhurst Commons in Braham. After Lawrence’s death in March of 2015, Pearl spent her final years at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge.
Pearl was a devoted mother and cared for her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was a wonderful baker; famous for her caramel rolls, apple pies, chocolate cake and homemade bread and fried doughboys. Pearl will be remembered for always speaking her mind and her blunt unfiltered comments. Pearl was a life-long member of the Mora Church of the Nazarene and served as a Sunday school teacher, cooking and serving with the Ladies Aide and in countless other ways. She was strong in her faith and is now happy and home in heaven.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; daughter, Frances Peterson; grandson, Craig Lofback; two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte (Tom) Carman, LeeAnn (Paul) Sanborn, Chuck, Lynnea Maze (Dale Kane), John (Bettyanna) and Jim (Lisa); 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris Harms and Mary Harms; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeralat 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Braham Covenant Church with Rev. Steve Jennisch officiating, visitation is one hour prior. Music provided by Jim Hill.
