Through Oct. 29: The Cambridge Farmers Market is held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Center Market parking lot. Last Farmer’s Market sale will be Oct. 29. They would like to thank everyone that supported them throughout the year.
‘Great Outdoors’ at Green Barn Garden Center
Through Oct. 31: Your family will love the annual indoor straw maze and corn pit. Go on an adventure through the huge indoor straw maze visiting and learning about outdoors themes as you walk through. Kids will also love to play in the corn kernel pit (Must be at least 2 yrs). Presentation on Growing, Storing Root Vegetables
Thursday, Oct. 13: A free presentation will be held at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge, lower level, on “Growing and Storing Root Vegetables.” This is free to the public presentation, although reservations are required by calling 763-689-1810.
Long Lake Spaghetti Dinner
Friday, Oct. 14: All are invited to a Spaghetti Dinner from 4-7 p.m. at Long Lake Lutheran Church, 3921 277th Ave. NW, Isanti (Highway 47 and 277th Avenue). All You Can Eat Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Tickets are adults, $6; 6-12 years, $3; and 5 and under are free.
Home Town Liquor’s Fall Tasting
Friday, Oct. 14: Home Town Liquor’s annual Fall Tasting will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Braham Event Center. Food, wine, beer, liquors, music and cash bar. Tickets are available at the store, Oct. 3-12. Cost is $15 in advance, $20 at the door the night of the event. Food shelf items or donations welcome.
Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution
Saturday, Oct. 15: Ruby’s Pantry Food Distribution will be held at Elim Baptist Church, 114 Dahlin Ave., Isanti, from 9-10:30 a.m. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Everyone who wants to save on grocery expenses is welcome. In return for a $20 donation, participants receive an abundance of grocery items. Bring boxes or baskets to carry home the food. There are no income or residency requirements. Box City 2016 Homeless Challenge
Saturday, Oct. 15: New Pathways is hosting its ninth annual Box City 2016 Homeless Challenge at the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge. Box City involves people spending the night in a cardboard box or tent. Participants need to be 18 years of age or older to attend without an adult chaperone, and each individual participant is asked to raise $75. Salem Harvest Festival

Blessing of the Animals Ceremony
Sunday, Oct. 16: The Isanti County Humane Society is hosting a Blessing of the Animals Ceremony in honor of the Feast of St. Francis at noon in front of Christ the King Catholic Church, 230 N. Fern St., Cambridge. You are invited to come and bring your pet(s). All animals must be under control of the owner and safe to be around. If you are unable to bring your animal, an article representing them (picture, collar, toy, halter, etc.) can be blessed on their behalf. If possible, bring an unopened small bag or can of animal food for the local food shelf.
Isanti County Health and Wellness Fair
Monday, Oct. 17: Isanti County travelling Health and Wellness Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Cambridge Medical Center, Education Center, 801 S. Dellwood St., Cambridge. Free screenings for people 50 and older. Free information to assist you in staying healthy and preparing for your future. Gifts for participating. Sponsored by the Community Dementia Care Collaborative. Supported through funding from the Minnesota Board on Aging Dementia Grant.
Memorial Blood Centers Blood Drive
Tuesday, Oct. 18: Memorial Blood Centers will hold a Blood Drive from noon to 6 p.m. at the Isanti Community Center, 121 Norelius St. While walk-in donors are welcome, they encourage appointments to be made in advance online at mbc.org/searchdrives with sponsor code 9797 or call Tommie at 651-332-7162.
Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution
Tuesday, Oct. 18: Cambridge Surplus Food Distribution will distribute food at the Isanti County Fairgrounds from 2:30-5 p.m. or until food is gone. To register you must have a driver’s license or two utility bills in your name and with your current address. They also will have a representative from NAPS ( Nutrition adult program for Seniors ) there. This person will be coming around 1 p.m. and will visit with seniors and explain their program. Remember those entering the parking lot at 1 p.m. and later will be the first to be served. No one is allowed to park at the fairgrounds before 1 p.m.
Parkinson’s Support Group
Wednesday, Oct. 19: Parkinson’s Support Group will hold its regular meeting from 10-11:30 a.m. at GracePointe Crossing, Commons Building, 1545 River Hills Pkwy., Cambridge. Individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, their families, friends and caregivers are invited to attend. Come and enjoy the fellowship, light refreshments, share interests, concerns and more with others who are living with Parkinson’s.
ECRL Branch Libraries Closed Oct. 20
Thursday, Oct. 20: East Central Regional Library branch libraries and headquarters will be closed Thursday, Oct. 20, for an all staff training day. However, Outreach service will be available that day in Jacobson, Hill City and McGrath. Regular hours at all locations will resume on Friday, Oct. 21.
Candidate Forum in Braham
Thursday, Oct. 20: An opportunity to hear from local, state and United States candidates concerning their positions on issues concerning the district will be held during a Candidate Forum at the Braham Event Center. The schedule is: 6:30 p.m., US Representative candidates Rick Nolan and Stewart Mills. 7:15 p.m., Isanti County District 2 County Commissioner candidates Terry Turnquist and Loren Davis. 7:45 p.m., State Representative candidates District 32A Brian Johnson and Paul Gammel. 8:15 p.m., State Senate candidates Tim Nelson and Mark Koran. Questions will be presented by moderator Jana King of Economic Development Services Inc.
Free Fitness Class
