Cambridge-Isanti High School has a long and rich tradition of athletic competition and fine arts accomplishments. The purpose of this Hall of Fame is to recognize the career accomplishments of our Bluejacket alumni. The first induction ceremony will take place on August 20, 2017. The banquet will be at the Spirit River Community Center in Isanti at 6 p.m., with social hour beginning at 5 p.m.
The Bluejacket Hall of Fame Committee is excited to announce the inaugural class. The individuals being inducted into the Bluejacket Hall of Fame as its first class are: George Larson (football) • Jerry Carlson (football) • Jack Peterson (basketball) • Bill Smrekar (boys hockey) • Lois Tureen (track & field) • Deb Hegquist (gymnastics).
• The Hall of Fame will also recognize the 1978 Class AA State Softball Championship team.

C-I’s Peterson also in MSHSCA Hall
The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association honored its Hall of Fame selections for 2016 at an Oct. 8 banquet in Minnetonka. The seven inductees included Bluejacket boys basketball coach John “Jack” Peterson.
Peterson started his coaching career in Arkansas, Wisc. before moving on to other schools. In 1966, Jack moved to Cambridge High School where he coached basketball. During a 17-year stretch, he accumulated 243 wins and during one 10-year stretch his Bluejackets amassed 191 wins to only 51 losses.
Long-time C-I rival coach Ron Stolski of Princeton and Brainerd football was another inductee at the banquet.
