In an effort to raise some funds and get people familiar with where SAC’s is now located, the Enrichment Center is holding a fundraising dinner and show on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 in the City Center Mall where SAC’s is located.
The show is entitled “Act III: The Lawrence Welk Show,” and is preceded by a delicious homemade meal and contains entertainment galore. It is replicating the classic TV show where it showcases singing (Don Deye, John Lundeen, Dolly Fairchild as the Champagne Lady), big bands, (Lynn Wedlund’s East Central Grad Band), guitar and instruments (Kenny Krona on Saturday, Trumpets Wild from Nevada), singing groups (Primetime Singers, Abrahamson Sisters) and much, much more. Long-time CIHS theater director Bruce Danielson will be Lawrence Welk in this “wunnerful, wunnerful” show.
Seating is limited and is general admission, so tickets must be purchased in advance by Wednesday, May 11. Tickets are only $20 which includes the meal and show. The Friday, May 13, meal is at 6 p.m. with a 7 p.m. show (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) and the Saturday, May 14, meal is at noon with a 1 p.m. show (doors open at 11:30 a.m.). It is located in the City Center Mall in the hallway immediately behind SAC’s. Make reservations by calling 763-689-6555 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
The meal will include homemade beef stroganoff with all the fixings and strawberry cheesecake. There will be traveling musicians before and during the meal and Ole Olson will be on hand to greet the guests and, as in the show years ago, the audience will have an opportunity to get up and dance with one another and with Mr. Welk. It’s going to be a wonderful time so get your tickets soon so you won’t be disappointed when they’re all gone. For more information, call 763-689-6555 and ask for Audrey.
