The Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association recognized Randy Pauly, principal of Isanti Middle School and Minnesota Center, with the 2016 MESPA Division Leadership Achievement Award.
Principals are responsible for a school’s instructional, school culture and resource leadership. The award honors principals whose exemplary leadership and sustained efforts have made noteworthy contributions to the operation of effective school learning programs—improving education, their communities, and their profession.
He was recognized by colleagues statewide on Feb. 4, 2016 at the MESPA Awards Banquet, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington Hotel during the annual MESPA Institute, the statewide convention of Minnesota’s elementary and middle level principals.
Pauly was nominated by Mark Ziebarth, principal at Isanti Intermediate School. On behalf of MESPA Central Division principals, Ziebarth stated, “I am nominating Randy Pauly because he is a great example of ‘service above self.’ Randy is always working behind the scenes to make certain that our principals in Cambridge-Isanti are being heard, our principals in Central Minnesota are being heard and our principals in Minnesota are being heard. Randy is a great communicator and shares his thinking with others. He is creative and innovative in how he looks at solving problems, and he has been a great voice for Central Minnesota at the state level. I strongly recommend Randy Pauly for the Central Minnesota Division leadership Award in 2016.”
Among his most significant career accomplishments includes developing a before and after school care program at Braham Elementary, implementing electives at Isanti Middle School-Minnesota Center, and transforming Minnesota Center into a STEAM school in 2013-2014.
Past honors and recognition received by Pauly include previously receiving the Central Division Leadership Achievement Award. Pauly has been the Central Division president, president-elect and legislative committee representative.
