Cambridge Campus Gallery, at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, is hosting an exhibition of Nikki Vahle-Schneider’s work, a series of woodcuts, silkscreens, drawings and etchings titled “Bliss Domestic.”

The exhibition will be available for public viewing until Dec. 4.
Vahle-Schneider described the series as: “My inspirations come from my life’s everyday experiences. From the chickens pecking the ground, my dog shaking off water after a swim, or when my son shows me his newest Lego creation. My work is about finding beauty or potential oddness in the ordinary. I love the basic process of the stroke, whether it is a pencil, brush, or gouge. I create comfortable art that hopefully brings a smile to the viewers’ face.”

Vahle-Schneider was born in Seward, Nebraska. She received her BFA from Baylor University in 1995 and her MFA from the University of Wisconsin in 1998.

Vahle-Schneider has been creating a body of work in printmaking and drawing for over 20 years.

Her wood engravings and woodcuts have been shown in South Africa, Japan, and the UK.

She has taught printmaking, painting and drawing at the Salisbury University in Maryland, The University of South Alabama, and is currently teaching at Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

The Cambridge Campus Gallery is located on the second floor of F building of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (300 Spirit River Drive S. in Cambridge).

Interested parties can contact Marko Marian at 763-433-1806 for viewing times and hours of operation.
