On Saturday, March 28, 12 Cub Scout teams participated in the District Pinewood Derby at the Armed Forces Reserve and Community Center in Cambridge.

Teams included members from Princeton, Braham, Mora, Milaca, Foley, Isle, Onamia, Big Lake, Becker, Elk River, Zimmerman and Ostego.

Top 3 Overall Race Winners:

1st Place – Grady Wendt with an average speed of 202.1 mph.

2nd Place – Sam Kvilhaug with an average speed of 200.4 mph.

3rd Place – Evan Gerwing with an average speed of 200.1 mph.

Tigers:

1st Place – Grady Wendt

2nd Place – Ian Lessard

3rd Place – Jacob Eddy

Wolves:

1st Place – Sam Kvilhaug

2nd Place – Harrison Hultman

3rd Place – Owen Oudekerk

Bears:

1st Place – Evan Gerwing

2nd Place – Theron Johnson

3rd Place – Aiden Carbert

Webelos:

1st Place – Dean Eich

2nd Place – Ethan McCullough

Braham Bear Scout Bradyn Long and Webelo Scout Drew Sisko hung out in the sunshine before the derby started. Elk River Tiger Scouts Grant Schoenborn and Jack Will sat together in the audience as they anticipated the start of the District Pinewood Derby. Scouts from 12 teams in the district handmade wooden cars with the help of their parents to compete in the March 28 derby. Onlookers keep a watchful eye on the finish line to see who placed first at the District Pinewood Derby held at the Cambridge Armed Forces Reserve and Community Center March 28.
