Bomber Girls reach 5AA semifinals

Braham defeated Foley 62-47 in the Section 5AA girls basketball quarterfinals held Saturday, March 8 at St. Michael-Albertville H.S. Leading the way for the Bombers were Jaclyn Hollenkamp (18 points), Jenna Winter (17) and Kayla Nickles (13).

The North No. 2 seed Bombers (23-4) will next take on top-seed Annandale (15-11) in the 5AA semifinals, 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 back at St. Michael-Albertville. The Cardinals were led in their 65-47 quarterfinal win over Milaca by 6’2″ junior Hannah Spaulding who scored 20 points.

Alive in the other half of the brackets are South No. 1 seed Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (24-2) and  No. 22 seed Watertown-Mayer (18-9) who play at 6 p.m. Tuesday night. The section championship will be Friday, March 14 at SCSU’s Hallenbeck Hall (7:30 p.m.).
