In His Steps Ballet & performing arts company is pleased to announce that one of its students, Bronte Tillges, has been accepted to the Joffrey Ballet School’s summer ballet intensive program in New York City.

Tillges will spend two weeks in July learning classical and contemporary ballet from some of the world’s best ballet dancers.

Tillges, a sixth-grade student at Cambridge Middle School, has studied ballet at In His Steps Ballet for seven years.
She auditioned for the Joffrey intensive program at TU Dance in Saint Paul this past winter.

“I spent a lot of time preparing and practicing for my audition, so I was really excited to find out that I was accepted to Joffrey,” Tillges said.

Tillges’ classmates and instructors at In His Steps are equally excited for her to partake in the Joffrey program and share what she learns during her time there.

“We at the studio are very proud of Bronte and her hard work,” said Lisa McKinnis, artistic director of In His Steps Ballet. “The Joffrey Ballet School is world-renowned for producing some of our nation’s best dancers. Bronte’s participation in the summer intensive program will not only help her further develop the skills she has learned at our studio, but will also bring national recognition to the work we do here at In His Steps.”

Tillges is the daughter of Pat and Denise Tillges of Cambridge. Her long-term goal is to pursue a collegiate and professional career in classical ballet.

In His Steps Ballet & performing arts company is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Cambridge that serves local youth through multidisciplinary instruction in the performing arts.
