C-I Wrestlers defend Bluejacket Invite title

IMG_9870Cambridge-Isanti sent 10 wrestlers to the finals and racked up 241 points to easily defend the title at their own Bluejacket Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 4. Little Falls was 2nd and Elk River was 3rd at the eight-team individual format tourney.

Winning championships for the Bluejackets were James Fredriksen at 138 (pictured), Monty Fredriksen at 126, David Kent at 160, Cody Skog at 170 and Kyle Chromy at 220. Placing 2nd were Carlo Holmberg (106), Brady Kuntz (113), Tanner Torgerson (152), Jake Pasch (182) and Dakota Johnson (195).

On Jan. 3, the Bluejackets defeated St. Francis 49-19 in a conference dual, then beat Bemidji 49-24.
