Merle W. Dahlstrom, age 78, of Cambridge, formerly of Crookston, MN and Rush City, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on April 10, 2017.Preceded in death by his parents Walfred and Lillian Dahlstrom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Phyllis; the father of Michelle (Paul) Bilotta and Mike (Betsy) Dahlstrom; and proud grandfather of Courtney Baeyen, Samantha and Gabrielle Bilotta, Lauren, Laney and Will Dahlstrom. Also survived by his brother Duane (Connie) Dahlstrom; sister LaDez (Glenn) Mell, nieces Erin (Gary) Luke, Anita (Bob) Janssen, nephews John Dahlstrom and Craig (Amy) Mell.
Merle worked for 43 years as a signal maintenance/ inspector with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Grand Forks ND.
He was a US Army Veteran and served as a Reserve Crookston Police officer for many years. Merle loved the outdoors and passed it on as a Boy Scout Master to many scouts.
Memorial service 11 a.m. Tuesday April 18th at Cambridge Lutheran Church 621 Old N, Main St. Cambridge, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment at First Lutheran Cemetery, Rush City.
