The Cambridge-Isanti girls basketball team has ended their bid for the Section 7AAAA crown.

The girls hit the road to take on Forest Lake in the first round of the Section 7AAAA playoffs on March 2.

While the Rangers ran an aggressive full court press, the Bluejackets did not back down. After fighting their way back into the game, the girls were able to tie up the score at the end of first half 26-26 thanks to a buzzer beating three-pointer from freshman guard Myranda Brogger.

The second-half was a different game for the young Bluejackets squad. They could not quite match the intensity of Forest Lake, and fell behind on the scoreboard.

The girls were outscored in the second half 31-14, as Forest Lake ran off the 57- 40 win.

This season may not have gone as well as the team had hoped for, but there is plenty to look forward to next season. The team is only graduating two seniors, captains Lanie Cox, and Taylor Glotzbach, so they will have a chance to bring back the majority of their core players. The girls finished the regular season 5 -21.
