Exercise your right to vote

Dear Editor:

The two candidates running in the 2016 presidential election are the most unworthy of any election in my lifetime. One of them will become our next president. So what do we do in the next four years?

Here are some activities I think we should all consider: (1) love our spouse, (2) take regular walks, (3) join a choir, (4) volunteer, (5) play with our children, (6) do something to make our community better, (7) encourage someone, (8) “do a good turn daily” (Boy Scout slogan), (9) get on our bikes, (10) be a mentor, (11) visit a shut-in, (12) befriend a neighbor … or anything else that brings light and hope to our world.

On Nov. 2, it is our privilege as citizens of the greatest free country in the world to exercise our vote. We all need to vote for someone even if it’s not our first choice. So for the next four years, First Thessalonians 5:16-18 in the Bible are words I will live by. Check it out … It’s awesome. The bottom line is this … God is in control.
