The following are news briefs from the Oct. 4 Braham City Council meeting:
• Braham Police Chief Robert Knowles reported there were 358 calls for service in September 2016, which is exactly the same number of calls they responded to in September 2015.
• The Council accepted a $500 donation for the fire department from Reliable Land and Trust.
• Isanti County Sheriff Chris Caulk and Sergeant Bob Dowd, a dispatch supervisor, attended the meeting. Caulk spoke about the new Isanti County Sheriff’s Office building that is being remodeled to better meet their current and future needs. The building is the former Hayford Ford building in Cambridge. He also talked about privacy issues with new body cameras and squad car cameras. Dowd spoke about all of the technological advances that help 911 dispatchers.
• The Council decided to give Cambridge State Bank 30 days to address their concerns about the Ercoa building. The Council noted the dilapidated condition of the building is hazardous to humans.
• A special meeting to canvas votes from the municipal election will be held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
• A resolution calling for an assessment hearing was approved. The assessment hearing for the cost of the 2016 Street Improvement Project will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Braham City Hall, 201 South Broadway.
