Ryan Lance Hooker, 44, was charged before Judge John Dehen Sept. 26 in Isanti County District Court in Cambridge with gross misdemeanor fifth-degree drug possession; misdemeanors driving with a revoked license and possession of hypodermic syringes; and petty misdemeanors drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $6,000 without conditions or $1,000 with conditions, and his next court appearance was set for Oct. 20.

Hooker was arrested Sept. 23 after being located by law enforcement at his parent’s residence in Grandy. Hooker, who is on probation, was being sought for submission of an urine analysis as requested by his probation officer.

According to the criminal complaint:

Isanti County Investigator Rob Bowker located Hooker pulling into his parent’s residence along 369th Avenue Northeast in the city of Grandy.

Hooker’s driver’s license is revoked and he is on probation with the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Dave Evans, his probation officer, requested an urinalysis. Hooker refused but indicated, “I’m dirty.” Hooker had a small amount of marijuana and a one-hitter pipe on him.

Bowker obtained consent from Hooker’s father and the owner of the property to search a camper-fish house located on the property. Hooker’s father had granted permission for his son to reside in the camper-fish house located on the property.

Inside the camper were several items of drug paraphernalia on and under a side table next to the door. Those items included a bent spoon with residue, plastic bindle bags with residue, a leather tourniquet and a glass methamphetamine pipe. These items field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Used syringes were also located in the garbage and inside a cupboard.
