The CambridgeACT on Alzheimer’s Survey Team
In an effort to raise awareness, educate our community and assist families who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease, this month’s article invites caregivers to register for Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workshop. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide tools you need to take care of yourself while caring for a another person.
This program will help you reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance your life, increase your ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. You will benefit from this workshop whether you are helping a parent, spouse, friend, someone who lives at home, in a nursing home or across country.
Classes consist of six, 2 1/2 hour sessions, held once a week. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the tools you choose and put them into action for your life. Class size is limited, and registration is required. Due to the nature of this workshop we cannot accept walk-ins.
Program will be held Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Family Pathways Building in Cambridge. The address is 1575 First Ave. E. in Cambridge. To register call Jayne Mund at 763-689-8811. Please make care arrangements for the person you care for during this time. The workshop starts Sept. 12 and goes through Oct. 17.
