Oktoberfest isn’t just for Germans. In 1810, Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen, and all of the citizens were invited to the celebration. Since then, the festival has grown to include horse races, games, rides, music, and eventually beer. People have flocked to Germany from all over the world to participate in the world’s largest annual festival for over 200 years. Oktoberfest is enjoyed in numerous cities and towns worldwide with traditional food, beer and music.
SAC’s Enrichment Center is excited to announce our 4th annual Oktoberfest celebration to be held on Friday, Sept. 30. There will be two seatings at 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Mouthwatering German food, great entertainment, and traditional lively German music will make it a gala affair.
Our menu includes a German style stuffed pork loin served with boiled sweet red potatoes and gravy, purple cabbage, homemade bread, and apple strudel. Punch and appetizers will be available prior to dinner. Entertainment will be provided by Bruce Danielson, otherwise known as “Ole.” A German photo booth will be available to provide an opportunity for our guests to take home a keepsake.
Oktoberfest tickets are $20 by calling 763-689-6555. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of acoustic ceiling panels for our restaurant.
