Concert in Cambridge City Park

Thursday, Sept. 1: The final concert of the free summer concert series at Cambridge City Park (810 Second Ave. SW) will be held at 6 p.m. featuring Ring of Kerry.

Edward Jones Coffee Club

Tuesday, Sept. 6: The Edward Jones Coffee Club will meet 10 a.m. at the Cambridge Senior Enrichment Center (City Center Mall, 140 N. Buchanan). Current events, the economy and investing in a relaxed, informal setting. Coffee and goodies are provided. Bring a friend and RSVP by calling 763-689-8552.

CCFA Artists Gathering

Tuesday, Sept. 6: Artist members of Cambridge Center for the Arts and those wishing to become members are invited to this informal gathering which meets the first Tuesday evening of every month at the Green Table Café in Isanti from 5-7 p.m. This is a great way to meet your fellow members and other artists. Each month a few artists are invited to “share” a piece of their work with the group. Open to visual arts, writers and performing arts. Refreshments and menu items are available at your own cost.

Free Community Dinner, Bread Distribution

Wednesday, Sept. 7: Free Community Dinner & Bread Distribution hosted by The Journey New Life Church, 145 Second Ave. SE, Cambridge, will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Questions or if you need a ride, call Pastor David L. Willis at 763-689-4471. Bread distribution is held the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7 p.m.

Cambridge High School Class of 1952 Reunion 

Thursday, Sept. 8: The Cambridge High School Class of 1952 will have a class reunion at noon at the Creamery Cafe in Isanti.

Free Presentation on Growing Giant Pumpkins

Thursday, Sept. 8: A free presentation will be held at 7 p.m. at the Isanti County Government Center in Cambridge, lower level, on “Growing Giant Pumpkins.” This is free to the public presentation, although reservations are required by calling 763-689-1810.

Athens Township Annual Picnic 

Saturday, Sept. 10: The Athens Township Annual Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come visit, eat, listen to music and play.

Hot Rods for Heroes Cruise

Saturday, Sept. 10: The Rum River Rods Car Club of Isanti is hosting a “Hot Rods for Heroes Cruise” to raise funds for Isanti County Beyond the Yellow Ribbon. Cost is $10 per vehicle and the event is a Cruise for any type of vehicle. The event starts at noon from the north side of the Isanti County Fairgrounds in Cambridge (enter from County Road 2) and ends at Isanti VFW Post 2735. Ride lasts about an hour. Non-perishable food items for the food shelf are encouraged. For more info visit www.rumriverrods.com.

Isanti County Pheasants Forever Banquet

Saturday, Sept. 10: Isanti County Chapter No. 334 of Pheasants Forever is hosting its 27th annual banquet at 5 p.m. at Spirit River Community Center in Isanti (1320 County Road 5 NE). All are welcome to join for an exciting night of food, fun and festivities. Proceeds to benefit local upland habitat conservation efforts.

PFLAG Meeting

Sunday, Sept. 11: The next meeting of the East Central MN Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Common Ground, Cambridge United Methodist Church, 404 N. Senior Social Time 

Wednesday, Sept. 14: Have you wondered about your family history, or started working on it but don’t know what resources to use or where you can find help? Come to the Senior Social Time at 2 p.m. at the Library in the Braham Event Center. Lyn Johnson from the Pine County Historical Society will be there to give you free advice and answer questions. Who knows what interesting ancestors you might find when you begin looking. This is a free program and people of all ages who are interested in the topic are welcome to attend.
