Laura Ruth Buchan-Gohman, age 95, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
She was born on February 27, 1921 in Dayton Township, Minnesota to Lloyd and Georgianna (Johnston) Davis. She was the 2nd oldest of five girls.
On September 30, 1938 in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 17 she married Kenneth Buchan. To this union six children were born, two of which died in infancy. In 1953 they moved to their farm in Cambridge where she loved to garden in her flower bed. Kenneth passed away in 2000. Laura remained in the home until March 2001. In 2003 she reconnected with Lyle Gohman and they were married on October 13th of that year. They have mostly resided in Cambridge aver since.
Laura was a kind and beautiful person. She loved to paint, garden and spend time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, son Glenn, daughter Malya, sisters Darlene and Wyvonne, and grandson Travis.
Laura is survived by her husband Lyle of Cambridge, children Merle (Diane) Buchan of Elk River, Linda (Paul) Rudquist of Cambridge, Leslie Buchan of Cambridge, Loren Buchan of Cambridge, grandchildren Shawn Birchem, Darin (Luci) Roberts, Trevor (Felisha) Roberts, Troy (Maureen) Buchan, Todd (Ronna) Rudquist, Trent Rudquist, Jodi (Derek) Shewczyk, Ben (Nikki) Buchan, Lynn (Cody) Powell, Melissa (Tye) Buchan, Parker Buchan, many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, step children Dan (Carol) Gohman, Wayne (Jen) Elliot, Debbie Porter, many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, sisters Myrlene Sparks of Seattle, WA, Marion (Ralph) Walters of Vancouver, OR.
Funeral Service 11 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Springvale Baptist Church. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
