Dear Editor:
It’s 5:30 a.m. and I’m beginning my day. I start by letting my dog out, into our fenced-in yard. We live on 15 acres just six miles north of Cambridge. What was once our paradise, has suddenly became our every day nightmare.
I would really like for someone to explain to my why when you live in the country, you do not get the protection from these disease carrying bugs?
I cannot speak for my neighbors. I, myself, would be very happy to pay whatever just to be able to sit outside again. I mow our yard, take care of the many wild birds we feed. I believe this bug is life threatening. Anyone who reads the news or watches the nature shows knows the mosquito is considered the deadliest animal. Mosquitoes kill more people a year than any of the large fur bearing animals on this planet. Nothing over-the-counter is working. So someone please tell me why if you in Cambridge, your area gets sprayed and if you live in a rural area, you don’t? If I get bit and get sick from a mosquito bite, then what? I would go to our local clinic. Would the city dwellers who also use the clinic be immune? Please someone shed some light on this.
