We hope you all had a “wunnerful, wunnerful” time at the Act II: The Lawrence Welk Show.
A big thanks to all who supported SAC’s fundraiser last month. Thanks to the wonderful audience — we had 250 attendees between the two performances. Thanks to all who took part in the show — we had over 100 participants. And a huge thank you to the Planning Committee which consisted of Bruce Danielson, Dolly Fairchild, Jack Hammargren and Della Theis.
Our delicious food was prepared by Sandy Yerigan and her crew of Gloria Cahoon, Lavern Kohn, Mae Lindberg, Cheryl Lindgren and Judy Pelshaw. They cooked over 240 meals which were served by volunteers Pat Christofferson, Denise Clark, the Isanti Ambassadors, Bobbi Klatt, Linda Larson, Gyla Lilledahl, Marlys McGarvey, Amanda Norling, Barb Nuorala, Jenny Peck and daughter, Mary Sarault, and Ruth Ann Wines. Reid Larson and Eddie Klatt provided their dishwashing services, and Jack Hammargren and Lewis Leasure manned our ticket booth. Thanks for the superb job.
A lot of planning went into this event. Our Planning Committee spent numerous hours working on our program and obtaining first class acts. Besides our Planning Committee, Judy Schroeder did a great job on decorations. Our program featured everything from champagne bubbles to beautiful centerpieces. Hopefully we included everyone. But, if not, a big thank you again for everyone’s support to make this a successful event.
It was our first time planning such an event and we had an overwhelming response from the community. But we realize that not everything went perfect and it was truly a learning experience. So, next time we will improve our program by doing a few things differently. First of all, we will have seating for 100 people maximum per night to allow more space between tables. There will be no reserved seating. And, the length of both the program and the dinner will be shorter.
All in all we had a great time and hope that you did, too. There were so many positive comments about the show that we are already planning a similar event for Christmas. Thanks from SAC’s Enrichment Center for the great support from the community — you helped to make it a “wunnerful, wunnerful” time.
