Local artist to hold talk, demonstration

MaryAnn Cleary, a local artist, will host an artist talk, demo and workshop at the Cambridge Center for the Arts in Cambridge on “Minimal Stroke Painting and Color.”

The process of painting minimal stroke studies and the benefits of doing them will be presented.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 2, at Cambridge Center for the Arts.

Cleary will provide an artist’s talk and demonstration on color theory and doing minimal stroke paintings.

Participants may sign up with the Cambridge Center for the Arts to try their own talents at doing a painting. Materials will be provided.

This short workshop will include an artist’s talk on color, a demonstration and a discussion of minimal stroke paintings and the benefits from doing them.

Those who sign up for the workshop will have an opportunity to do their own painting using an oil-primed canvas, art brushes and oil paint.

Materials will be provided for a limited number of participants and a small fee will be charged by the Cambridge Center for the Arts to do a painting.

The artist’s talk and demonstration are open to the public and free of charge.
