The East Central Minnesota Chorale presented the annual scholarship concert on Feb. 28 at the Hardy Performing Arts Center in Cambridge. Guests enjoyed performances by the University of Minnesota, Morris Symphonic Winds, Mora High School Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, Cambridge-Isanti High School Concert Choir and Unum Vox.
The Armed Man, a choral mass for peace by Sir Karl Jenkins, was the masterwork of the concert. It was the second time the piece was performed by a mass choir and wind ensemble in the United States. The pieces utilizes a variety of instruments and vocals to captivate the audience into the story of the fight for peace amidst war.
