
Marjorie J. Houchins, age 78, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on February 22, 2016.
Marjorie graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1954. After graduation she worked for several years as a Northwestern Bell Telephone Operator.
She married Arlo Houchins in 1957 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls. Marjorie’s growing family became the focus of her life. Cooking scrumptious meals, especially mashed potatoes and gravy, hot breakfasts and mouth-watering apple pies.
Marjorie was very active with her grandchildren while babysitting, spoiling them with ice-cream and cookies.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arlo parents; Elmer and Margaret Broberg.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Gregory Houchins, Cheryl (Mark) Madison, Loren Houchins (Diane Olson), Bruce (Helen) Houchins and Janice (Ken) Lutterman; grandchildren, Jessica (Ravi) Hanson, Jon Gravem, Nick Houchins (Kayla Tronson), Eric Houchins, Cara (Pat) Narog, Michelle (Josh) Thiess, Elizabeth (Erik) Johnson, Brittany Houchins and Hannah Houchins; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mackenzie Gravem, Chase Hanson, Preston and Landon Houchins, Emma Hamm, William Narog, and Madelyn Thiess and sister, Fern Post.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 5, 2016 at Cambridge Lutheran Church, 621 Old N. Main St., Cambridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
