WINTER SPORTS UPDATES: Top-seed Grand Rapids exploded for six goals in the second period en route to a 10-2 victory at home over Cambridge-Isanti in the Feb. 16 Section 7AA quarterfinals. Cullen Osen and Brennan Skelton netted the goals for the Bluejackets who close the 2016 season with a 12-15 record.
Grand Rapids (18-6-1) next faces No. 4 Cloquet (13-13) in the 7AA semifinals Feb. 20 at Amsoil Arena in Duluth. The Lumberjacks beat Duluth Marshall 2-1 in the quarters. The other semis on Saturday will have No. 2 Duluth East (17-8) against No. 3 Elk River (18-7-1).
