held Feb. 8. Though they did not place first, the team scored the most points in the contest overall. St. Michael Albertville will move on to the state competition, winning over Cambridge-Isanti by just two points. Cambridge-Isanti placed first in two of their meets this season and placed second in three.

Cambridge-Isanti coach Mike Sorn, who has coached the team for 30 years, attributed the success of the team to the great kids he has worked with over the years. “The only reason we’ve done so well over the year is because of our kids,” he remarked. “They’re just very talented students. They have fun with each other and they support each other. They are respected among our school and they feel comfortable with each other. The support is really tremendous. We need to get the good kids out there and that’s what I’ve done.”
